For nearly 40 years, Habitat for Humanity of Lee and Hendry Counties has offered low- and moderate-income families the opportunity for stability and self-reliance through affordable homeownership. Partnering with the community for volunteer labor, financial support, and material donations, Habitat homes are sold to families with a zero or low-interest mortgage and monthly payments set at no more than 30% of their income, making the dream of homeownership an affordable reality. As a HUD-approved counseling agency, our certified homeownership advisors help Habitat homebuyer candidates, and other members of the community in need of assistance, take control of their economic futures through housing and financial counseling. Since 1982, 1,708 families have purchased Habitat homes in Lee and Hendry Cos.
